Play for Mom

Mom's Night Out - Mom's Night Out (or MNO) is an evening of kid-free relaxation for our members held on the first Thursday evening of the month. Past and upcoming Mom’s Nights Out include a wine & cheese tasting, kayaking on Lake Union, dinner & movie, spa night and Chopstix Dueling Piano Bar. Mom's Night Out refreshes and restores our members’ spirits!

Book Club - Our Book Club meets on the fourth Wednesday evening of each month for book discussion, refreshment and socializing. We strive to read a wide variety of books, including novels, short stories and non-fiction. Suggestions are taken throughout the year by our Book Club Coordinator who announces final picks in December. Selections have included Wicked, Reading Lolita in Tehran, The Namesake (a Seattle Reads book) and Into Thin Air.

Couples Events - A few times per year, we’re able to escape with our partners for a night out planned by our Social Chair. Past couples events include a summer barbeque and night out playing pool.

Impromptu Events - Feeling like you want to get out and about, but there’s nothing on the chapter calendar? Then by all means, put out the call to our members on the message board and get some company for an impromptu outing. Members often meet for movies, cultural events and dinners on the spur-of-the-moment.

Play for Kids

Playgroups - Because of our large and dynamic membership, our playgroup structure is constantly evolving.

Current playgroups within the chapter include a “Witching Hour” afternoon playgroup that meets at varying times and locations and a “Workforce Moms” playgroup that meets around the dinner hour at varying locations. Summer months also bring an all-ages park-based playgroup to the mix to accommodate older kids who are out of school.

Toddler Tracks - Toddler Tracks is our popular year-round outdoor exploration playgroup for moms and kids held every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at area parks. Rain or shine, we get out and explore all the beauty the Seattle area has to offer. This group is open to all members and their kids regardless of age.

Family Events - Throughout the year, our Social Chair organizes several events for our members and their families. Family events have included a summer picnic, trip to the pumpkin patch, and New Year’s Eve dinner mixers.

Impromptu Play - Members often organize impromptu play with kids, including trips to the zoo, trick- or- treating at an assisted living facility, pizza making at a member’s home, and ride-on toy play at a member’s sport court. These impromptu events are usually well-attended and lots of fun!
